The inauguration of the exhibition “The art of Islamic manuscripts of Leiden” will take place this evening, Monday, December 5, at the Tahar Haddad club.
Organized by the Royal Embassy of the Netherlands in Tunisia, this exhibition should be inaugurated this evening and will allow, as soon as it opened to the public on Tuesday, December 6, to discover reproductions of precious manuscripts from the Islamic art collections of the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.
The exhibition includes five series which relate to the calligraphies of the Koran, the representations of Mecca and Medina, the illustrations of scientific books, the miniatures of literary works and the Islamic architectural decoration.
These works are part of the Islamic art collections of the University of Leiden which brings together the trifle of 6000 Arab, Persian and Turkish manuscripts.
The exhibition will continue at Club Tahar Haddad during the month of December 2016.hb
