One of the authors of the attack in April 2002 against the Synagogue of Djerba, the German jihadist Christian Ganczarski was before French justice for having tried to assassinate in 2018 supervisors of the Vendin-le-Vieil (North) detention center where he was imprisoned.
This 57 -year -old German Islamist is a former Osama bin Laden’s arms companion. Condemned for complicity in the 2002 attack on the synagogue of Djerba (21 dead), he finished serving his sentence of eighteen years of imprisonment.
But in early 2018 he tried to assassinate supervisors from the Vendin-le-Vieil (North) detention center where he was imprisoned. Christian Ganczarski is tried this week and faces life imprisonment.
Considered as an ex-al-Qaeda framework, he is also claimed by the United States for participation in this terrorist group between 1999 and 2006.
