A ministerial meeting was held yesterday, Tuesday August 15, 2023, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Equipment and Housing, between Ms. Sarra Zaâfrani, Minister of Equipment and Housing, and Mr. Kamel Degguiche, Minister of Youth and Sport, and in the presence of the chief of staff, Borhane Hmida, and senior executives of the two ministries, about from the El Menzah Olympic stadium.
The meeting has worked on the problems to which certain projects come up against the progress of the various projects of the sports infrastructure, including the Olympic stadium of El Menzah.
The two parties spoke of the need to flatten the difficulties hindering the completion of certain projects, in particular the redevelopment work of the El Menzah Olympic stadium, the acceleration of its realization, and the finalization of the work, according to the quality and the required standards.
The development project of the El Menzah Olympic Stadium includes the realization of new stands, once the tests and studies are completed, the consolidation of stadium structures, the realization of metal structures, the development of the locker rooms, and the completion of the necessary tests on the old coverage of the stadium stands.
The two ministers underlined the need to intensify efforts to accelerate the progress of the work and complete the project within the time limits, in accordance with international standards and taking into account the required international technical specifications, so that this old sports building can regain its brightness, being a major sporting achievement for Tunisia and for Tunisian sport in general.
