Twenty-four people were killed on Sunday, August 6, in the accident of a minibus that dropped in a ravine on a mountain road, in the center of Morocco.
According to local authorities, the minibus transported passengers going to the weekly market in the city of Demnate at the start of the morning. The minibus overturned in a turn on a mountain road.
“All of the passengers died, one of them was transported to hospital in serious condition, but unfortunately he died of his injuries,” said Youssef Makhloufi, director of the Demnate hospital.
In 2022, road accidents killed more than 3,200 people in Morocco, a number of 7 % compared to the previous year.
