Clashes broke out on Monday evening in Tripoli, the Libyan capital, according to several local media which evoke chaos and a movement of panic of the inhabitants.
Flights to the city’s main airport was suspended, after capturing a powerful armed faction commander by rival force, reports the Reuters agency.
“We have heard shots for almost two hours now and we don’t know what’s going to happen. We fear for our safety, ”said one of the inhabitants at the same agency.
Note that Mahmoud Hamza, chief of the 444 brigade who controls a large part of Tripoli, was detained at Mitiga airport by the special deterrent force, local media said.
