A restored version of Goha was projected during the Cannes Film Festival in its 2013 edition in the presence of Claudia Cardinale.

As for Ferid Boughdir, his two documentaries, Africa Camera (1983) and Arab camera (1987) had been present in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival, in the Un Certain Regard section.

Two other Arab filmmakers appear in this photo:
-Algerian Mohammed Lakdar-Hamina, who won the Palme d’Or in 1975 for his film Chronicle of the years of embers.
– Egyptian Mohamed Diabscreenwriter and director, whose film Clash had last year opened the section A certain look. Mohamed Diab is This year member of the jury of this same section.
