Last night, during the opening ceremony of the 39th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival which is held from November 21 to 30, 2017, The Prix of Excellence Faten Hamama was awarded to Hend Sabry In tribute to his cinematographic career rich in quality roles and films. This prize is awarded each year to the initiative of the family of Faten Hamama to a personality of the show which contributes to the promotion and upgrading of cinematographic art.

Very elegant in her midnight blue dress, Hend Sabry received her trophy from the hands of actor Ahmed Ezz with whom she played in 2001, in her first Egyptian film Diary of a teenager of Inas Al Deghidi.

She recalled that the very first award she received was the prize for best female interpretation for her role in the film The Silences of the Palace From Moufida Tlatli in 1994 to the cinematographies of Carthage, and more precisely on November 20, his birthday. Now this evening, it’s November 21 and therefore a few hours ago, it’s still her birthday, and she receives the most important reward for her life. These two awards are therefore gifts.
She thanked Ahmed Ezz and Inas Al Deghidi, and all those with whom she worked, the High Advisory Committee of the International Cairo Film Festival which awarded her this prize, the family of Faten Hamama, and more specifically her husband M. Mohamed Abdelwahab, who accepted that her name be linked to that of Faten Hamama.
Hend Sabry then chained, in Tunisian dialect and with great emotion, thanks for Tunisia: “Thank you to Tunisia, my country which gave me birth and made me grow. I hope I do honor to Tunisia as it always does me honor ”.
She continued by thanking Egypt who made her grow, who loved her and taken in her arms. Egypt which is love and which offers it this award that any Arab artist dreams of.

Hend Sabry also thanked all the people with whom she worked, all the people who criticized her, all those who taught her something, all her collaborators, her colleagues and her friends.
She then addressed her parents present in the room: “ I hope you are proud of me as I am proud of you permanently “, And to her husband Ahmed and her little daughters Alia and Leila to whom she said:” You are the best reward, I love you ».
What pride to see the work and talent of Hend Sabry recognized by all, and not only in the Arab world. On November 7, She had also been honored in Washington by America Abroad Media (AAM)and this for the whole of his film career.
