Qualified for the quarterfinals of the Zhengzhou tournament, Ons Jabeur had to forfeit because of a knee injury that deprives her of the Jasmins Open in Monastir.
Ons Jabeur (7th in the world) declared forfeit for the Monastir Open (250 points) scheduled from October 14 to 22. The native of Ksar Helal announced this Friday, October 13, 2023, on her Instragram account that she suffers from a knee injury which forces her to forfeit the Tunisian tournament.
“I had a difficult season with a knee injury, but despite all that I qualified for the Final Tour which will take place in Cuncun (Mexico) from October 29 to November 5,” she added.
Ons Jabeur (7th in the world) yesterday made a victorious entry into the WTA 500 tournament in Zhengzhou by beating the Italian Lucia Bronzetti (63rd) as part of the 2nd round in two sets (6-3, 7-6).
Ons Jabeur qualified in the quarterfinals, but will finally have to package for the rest of the competition, after having contracted a knee injury.
