The Tunisia program at CAN 2024

The African Handball Confederation (CAHB) unveiled the full program of the 26th edition of the African Cup of Nations of Handball Messrs, scheduled from January 17 to 27 in Cairo (Egypt), with the participation of 16 selections including Tunisia.

In addition to Tunisia which will evolve in group D alongside Kenya, Nigeria and Angola, the Cairo meeting records the participation of Egypt (host country and double holder of the trophy), Guinea, Cameroon, Congo, Cape Verde, vice-champion of the last edition, DR Congo, Zambia, Rwanda, Algeria Libya.

The first two of each pool will qualify for the quarter -finals. The 3rd and 4th will compete in the president’s cup and the sacred team during this African handball championship will qualify directly at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, while the loser of the final will play a qualifying tournament next March.

In addition, the first five of CAN-2024 will represent the African continent at the 2025 World Cup planned in Croatia, Denmark and Norway.

Program (Tunisian time):

Wednesday January 17, 2024 (1st day)

10:00 am: Tunisia – Kenya (Gr.D)
2:00 p.m.: Angola – Nigeria (Gr.D)
4:00 p.m.: Opening ceremony

Friday January 19, 2024 (2nd day)

12 noon: Kenya-Angola (Gr.D)
6:00 p.m.: Nigeria-Tunisie (Gr.D)

Sunday January 21, 2024 (3rd day)

12 noon: Nigeria-Kenya (Gr.D)
6:00 p.m.: Tunisia-Angola (Gr.D)

Tuesday January 23, 2024: quarter -finals

12:00 p.m.: 1 A-2 C (qualified 1)
2:00 p.m.: 1 C-2 A (Q2)
4:00 p.m.: 1 B-2 D (Q3)
6:00 p.m.: 1 D-2 B (Q4)

Thursday, January 24, 2024: semi-finals
