Franz Beckenbauer, the German football legend, died on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the age of 78 on Monday, January 8, 2024.

The German defender of Bayern Munich twice won the Ballon d’Or in 1972 and in 1976. With the Mannschaft, he won the Euro in 1972 before winning the World Cup in 1974 against the Netherlands 2-1 in the final.

He had been admitted to the hospital for several days for major health concerns.

Franz Beckenbauer is considered one of the greatest players and football coaches in the history of sport. He was born on September 11, 1945 in Munich, Germany. Beckenbauer is known for its elegant play style and versatility on the ground.

In addition to its international success, Beckenbauer had a remarkable career in club, playing for Bayern Munich in Germany and the New York Cosmos in the United States. After his player career, he became a successful coach and also held management positions in football.
