Human Rights Watch estimated, this Saturday, October 28, 2023, that the “almost total” cut of telecommunications in the Gaza Strip, subject to intense Israeli bombings, constitutes a “coverage with massive atrocities”.
Deborah Brown, responsible for the NGO, argued that “the almost complete cut -off of telecommunications in Gaza cuts 2.2 million people from the world, preventing them from communicating with their loved ones and accessing vital services as well as other essential services”.
“This blackout of information could serve as a cover for mass atrocities and contribute to the impunity of human rights violations,” she added.
