The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced, this Friday, the ban on laser pointers in the stadiums during the matches of the African Cup of Nations.

The laser ban was included in the list of prohibited materials announced by the African Confederation during the tournament, which will start with a match between Côte d’Ivoire, host country, and Guinea Bissau.

Football supporters, especially in Africa, use laser beams for the eyes of opposing players, in order to confuse and disturb them, especially during penalties.

Several objects including alcoholic drinks, whistles, narcotics, umbrellas, parasols and many other objects have been prohibited in stadiums.

It is also prohibited “any discriminatory message towards a country, a person or a group on the basis of sex, race, skin color, ethnic, national or social origin, disability, language, religion, political or other opinion. So would it be forbidden to express your support for Gaza?
The 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) of Football will start tomorrow Saturday January 13 in the Côte du Lvoire, and will end on February 11.
