The Regional Trade Directorate in Nabeul noted 16 economic offenses in the real estate agencies sector following a vast control campaign carried out during the summer season, said Samir Khlifaoui, regional director of trade, in a declaration granted this Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Mosaique FM.
The control operation, launched from the start of the summer with the influx of summer visitors and the return of Tunisians from abroad, targeted the real estate agencies operating in seasonal rental as in the sale of goods. Since July 18, 211 agencies have been inspected.
According to Khlifaoui, the majority of the offenses observed concern the non-use of the services offered. Four cases of illegal practice of the profession of real estate agent without prior declaration have been identified, as well as six offenses linked to the absence of registers or mandates required by regulations.
Fines of up to 10,000 dinars
The manager specifies that these offenses are liable to financial sanctions varying between 1,000 and 10,000 dinars. As for the non-affiliation of services, the sanction can reach 50,000 dinars.
On the other hand, despite certain publications on social networks reporting scams, the regional management has, to date, received no official complaint in this sense.
Khlifaoui finally calls citizens wishing to rent or buy real estate to be called upon only to agencies approved by the State and to report any breach with the Regional Trade Administration.
