The Dockers of the Port of Barcelona decided in the Assembly to block any activity linked to the transport of war material to Israel.
“As an organization of workers, respect for human rights (…) is an obligation and a commitment. Human rights which seem to have been forgotten by the own signatory countries of the UN Charter, and which are today raped in Ukraine, Israel or in Palestinian territory, among others,” said the Port Agents’ union.
Before continuing, “we have decided to ban the activity of ships containing war materials in our port in order to protect the populations, whatever the territory. No cause justifies sacrificing civilians,” said Barcelona Dockers, demanding the ceasefire.
Recall that several port cities have thus experienced blocking actions in recent days against weapons shipments to Israel.
