Unionists block an armament factory in England

Dozens of demonstrators and trade unionists blocked this Friday, November 10, 2023, access to the BAE Systems factory in south-eastern England targeting the largest military supplier in Great Britain to call for the end of arms sales to Israel.

About 50 people have brandished a banner on which “Stop Armer Israel” and agitated Palestinian flags in front of one of the factory in Rochester, Kent, where BAE tests and assembles electronic equipment used in military aircraft and surveillance systems, reports British media, was written.

The company said that it did not export any equipment directly to Israel, but that it is one of the main parts of parts used in the manufacture of F-35 combat aircraft made in the United States, which are used by Israel.

Recall that the Dockers of the port of Barcelona decided in assembly last Tuesday to block any activity linked to the transport of war material to Israel.
“As an organization of workers, respect for human rights (…) is an obligation and a commitment. Human rights which seem to have been forgotten by the own signatory countries of the UN Charter, and which are today raped in Ukraine, Israel or in Palestinian territory, among others,” said the Port Agents’ union.
