In 2022, Carthage cinematographic days (JCC) celebrate their 56th spring. More than half a century of engagement at the service of African, Arab, Asian and Latin American cinemas, while remaining open to the best of global film productions.
This 33rd session, which will be held From October 29 to November 5, 2022is carried by a new team having to its general management Ms. Sonia Chamkhi and to her artistic direction Mr. Ibrahim Letaif.
Named at the head of the JCC on 04/01/2022, the filmmaker and writer Ms. Sonia Chamkhi, is a master of conferences at the Higher School of Audiovisual and Cinema (ESAC, University of Carthage), doctor of cinema, audiovisual, and television (Paris-Panthéon-Sorbonne) and graduate in design image, production of film and writing.
Very committed to the cultural and artistic scene, she was, in others, director general of the National Center for Cinema and Image (CNCI), president of the association of directors of Tunisian films (ARFT), director of the National Cinema Festival and vice-president of the Independent Syndicate of Productors (SIRP) and the Union of Tunisian artists (UAT).
Sonia Chamkhi is also the author of four books which have obtained numerous national and continental literary prizes including the Prix du Credif de la Recherche Scientific in 2003, the Zoubeida B’chir Prize for female creation in 2008, the Comar Prize of the first novel in 2009 and the honor mention of the Noma Prize for the African edition in 2009.
She is also a member of the Parliament of French -speaking Writers.
The director, producer and man of the media Ibrahim Letaif, new artistic director of the JCC, is a graduate in science of expression and communication (Paris-Panthéon-Sorbonne).
Active in the association, it was, in others, president of the association of directors of Tunisian films (ARFT), and active member of the International Organization for the cultural exception (Seoul 2008) and president of the National Syndicate of Communication Agencies ‘SAPA’.
Ibrahim Letaief directed the JCC in 2015 and 2016 and was artistic director of the JCC in 2020.
The entire team has the immense pleasure of renewing this illustrious meeting with the professionals of the South Cinema, the partners of the JCC and with the exceptional public guarantor irreplaceable of the brilliance and the majesty of this unique event.
The registration of the films for the 33rd edition of the JCC will be opened on May 10, 2022.
