The director of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza Thomas White warned Monday, November 13, that “humanitarian operations will cease within 48 hours, no fuel being authorized to enter Gaza”, besieged by Israel and prey to fights between Hamas and the Israeli army.
“This morning, two of our main subcontractors for the distribution of water have ceased to work, they no longer have any fuel, which will deprive 200,000 people of drinking water” in the small territory, where more than half of the 2.4 million inhabitants are moved and now depend completely on humanitarian aid to survive, said Thomas White on the social network X.
Due to the Israeli army bombings on Gaza’s energy infrastructure, the Al-Chifa hospital, located in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave, “has no more water or electricity” for three days “, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Palestinian authorities claim that the strikes have even damaged the hospital center itself, adding that “all hospitals” in northern Gaza are currently “out of service”.
