Polemic in France after supermarkets concealed the Israeli origin of certain products to bypass the boycott.
Lidl, Auchan and Carrefour are in the eye of the cyclone. These supermarkets are accused of selling products of Israeli origin with false labeling to bypass the boycott.
Qualified as “scandal at Lidl”, videos showing lawyers and grenades imported from Israel “assimilated” to authentic products from Morocco and Latin America have become viral.
Internet users denounce an abject behavior on the part of these brands who deliberately deceive their consumers by affixing false labels on products of Israeli origin.
In response to these accusations, the Schwarz group, owner of Lidl, described this “as display error due to the variety of sources of supply while expressing its dismay at the current situation in the Middle East”.
For its part, the Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and the Suppression of Fraud Investigates these allegations of food deception.
Since the start of the war in Gaza and the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli army against the Palestinians, the boycott of Israeli products has accentuated in the world undermining the large food distribution whose turnover has dragged heavily.
