During a ceremony held at the Palais of Festivals and Congress of Cannes, The jury of the International Federation of the Cinematographic Press (FIPRESCI), Chaired by Ahmed Shawky (Egypt), surrounded by Mariola Wiktor (Poland), Nathalie Chifflet (France), Simone Sorana (Italy), Jihane Bougrine (Morocco), Emanuel Levy (United States), Magali Van Reeth (France) and Bidhan Rebeiro (Bangladesh), crowned three films in competition at this 75th edition of the Cannes Festival ::

The jury chose this film ” For the director’s ability to create an engaging story, very dense for cultural ideas, drawing a microcosm of dysfunctional and freely passing – and joyfully – between tones. »»

Synopsis Leila dedicated her parents to her parents and her four brothers all her life. Very touched by an unprecedented economic crisis, the family is crumbling under the debts and tears up as their personal disillusions progress. In order to get them out of this situation, Leila is developing a plan: buy a shop to launch a business with her brothers. Everyone puts all their savings there, but they lack a last financial support. At the same time and to everyone’s surprise, their father Esmail promises a large sum of money to his community in order to become the new godfather, the highest distinction of the Persian tradition. Little by little, the actions of each of its members lead the family on the verge of implosion, while the health of the patriarch is deteriorating.

Synopsis Halim has long been married in Mina, with whom he has a traditional caftans store in the medina of Salé, Morocco. The couple has always lived with Halim’s secret, his homosexuality that he has learned to silence. Mina’s illness and the arrival of a young apprentice will upset this balance.
