The government of Hamas announced on Saturday November 18, 2023 in an updated assessment, that the Israeli bombing on the Gaza Strip had killed 12,300 Palestinians since the start of the war on October 7.
Among the dead identified to date are more than 5,000 children and 3,300 women. This assessment also reports 30,000 injured.
The Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip, also assures that dozens of bodies litter the Northern streets of the Gaza Strip and that it is impossible to identify them precisely, because the Israeli army aims for ambulances and caregivers trying to approach them.
As such, the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed, on Friday, its concern about the risk of epidemics in the Gaza Strip.
While 1.5 million people had to flee their home since the start of the war, the refugee camps, south of Gaza, are overcrowded.
In addition to a lack of food, drinking water or access to health facilities, Gazaouis must now face the spread of diseases.
More than 70,000 cases of acute respiratory infection, as well as 44,000 cases of diarrhea have been identified by the WHO.
