It is thus, for example, that several directors of foreign cinema festivals, come there to choose films, but especially to make interesting meetings, or to launch the next editions of their festivals.
Taking advantage of his presence and his participation in the 75th Cannes Film Festival, the film critic M.yaser Mohib, president of the Cairo French -speaking Film Festival (CFFF), held a series of meetings and interviews with a certain number of representatives and correspondents of international newspapers and media, during which he reviewed the characteristics of the next edition of the Cairo Film Festival. quarter of the year 2022. He also announced the call for submission of films for the next edition, for the two competitions, long and short films, fictions and documentaries.

Mr.yasser Mohib, also met Pierre Barrot, head of the audiovisual program and the CLAP ACP project at the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) and Enrico Chiesa, coordinator of the same project. During this meeting, they first reviewed the details and activities of the first edition of the festival, which was held in December 2021 at the Cairo Opera, and also discussed the characteristics of the next edition, as well as the workshops and parallel activities that the festival organizes throughout the year in many cities and governorates of Egypt, to serve the objectives of the festival and strengthen the links between Egyptian cinema and cinema Francophone.

In addition, it was decided that the French -speaking Film Festival in Cairo, as part of its activities parallel to film screenings, will constitute a commission responsible for receiving and selecting the filmmakers’ projects and treatments of filmmakers wishing to submit their files to the OIF in order to solicit aid for production or development with the two financing funds of the French -speaking organization. The festival management undertakes to provide, free of charge, a professional and certified translation, to present the selected film projects to the organization, in order to encourage promising Egyptian cinematographic projects. The festival thus becoming an aid gateway between Egyptian creators, filmmakers and intellectuals, and the OIF and its affiliated entities.
The French -speaking film festival in Cairo is an annual film festival. Its first edition was held from December 12 to 16, 2021, at the Cairo Opera, under the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This festival aims to bring added value to the cinematographic, cultural and creative scene in Egypt, by transporting the public of the festival to the heart of the French -speaking film industry and its arts, in order to revitalize and promote Egyptian cinematographic art, while opening up new effective channels for discussion, integration and cultural and cinematographic exchanges Egyptian cinema schools and different French -speaking countries.
