The 44th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) to be held from November 13 to 22 now opens up registrations for the 9th Cairo Film Connection, the Festival co -production market.
The Cairo International Film Festival also announces the appointment of Lynda Belkhiria as director of the 9th edition of Cairo Film Connection.
Hussein Fahmy, President of CIFF,, Expresses his joy at receiving new film projects to participate in the Cairo Film Connection, which has accompanied several talents of cinema in the making for 8 years and helps them to be recognized regionally but also internationally.
On the other hand, Amir Ramses, director of the festival, explains that Lynda Belkhiria was selected for her great expertise as a programmer at several festivals, including the Carthage Cinematographic Days (JCC). “” This new collaboration will be added to the 9th edition of the Cairo Film Connection“.
Lynda Belkhiria is a professional festivals programmer and was responsible for the Carthage Industry Days platform of the JCC. She also worked as an industry event coordinator at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in 2011 and actively contributes to Carthage’s film days since 2016.
Cairo Film Connection is held within the framework of the Cairo Industry Days, the Industrial Platform of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), which brings together industry professionals from around the world to participate in a program of masterclasses, round tables and events designed to inspire, enhance and support cinematographic talents in the region.
To be able to be submitted to the Cairo Film Connection, the projects must be:
* Made by filmmakers of nationality or Arab origin.
* A work of fictional fiction or non-fiction in the development or post-production phase.
The director of the project must have previously made at least one film, whether short or feature film.

The Cairo International Film Festival is one of the oldest festivals in the Arab world and Africa and the only festival in the region to be accredited as a festival A by the International Federation of Film Producers (FIAPF).
