The Israeli government approved at the dawn on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 the agreement providing for the release of 50 hostages in the hands of Hamas in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and a four -day Truce, from tomorrow, in the Gaza Strip.
Qatari diplomacy has confirmed the details of the revealed agreement: the release of “50 civilian women and children currently detained in the Gaza Strip” in exchange for the release of a “number of Palestinian women and children detained in Israeli prisons”. “The number of people released will be increased during the subsequent stages of implementing the agreement,” said the Qatari Foreign Affairs.
US President Joe Biden said he was “extraordinarily satisfied” with the imminent release of hostages as an agreement to which Israel gave the green light on Wednesday.
“I am extraordinarily satisfied that many of these courageous souls (…) will be gathered with their families once this agreement is fully implemented,” he said in a statement released by the White House.
