The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel came into force this Friday, November 24, 2023 at 7 am local time. The agreement concluded on Wednesday provides for the exchange of fifty women and children held by Hamas for 150 Palestinian prisoners, as well as a lull of fighting for four days.

A four -day Truce between Hamas and Israel having to allow the release of hostages retained in the Gaza Strip in exchange for Palestinian prisoners entered officially on Friday at 7 am local.

This “humanitarian break” negotiated under the leadership of Qatar, Egypt and the United States comes as war between Israel and Hamas entered its 49th day. The first hostage releases (13 women and children) are expected around 4 p.m. locals. A total of 50 hostages must be released against 150 Palestinian prisoners during this four-day ceasefire.

The agreement found also provides the routing of 130 thousand liters of fuel each day and the daily entry of 200 trucks of humanitarian aid in the Palestinian enclave. Humanitarian aid trucks from Egypt have also entered the Gaza Strip, about an hour and a half after the start of the Truce via the Rafah terminal.

In addition, the government of Hamas announced Wednesday that 14,854 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli bombing on Gaza since the start of the war. Among the deaths identified to date are 6,150 children, the government of Hamas said. In addition, 36,000 people were injured.
