Qatar announced today the release of 24 hostages (13 Israelis, 10 Thai and a Philippin) and 39 Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
The 24 hostages were given this Friday, November 24, 2023 to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza by Hamas, announced Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, while the Zionist entity released 39 women and children detained in its prisons.
“We also confirm the release of thirty-nine women and children detained in Israeli prisons, in application of the commitments of the first day of the agreement,” added Mr. Al-Ansari on the social network X.
Among the 39 Palestinian prisoners released, 28 of them were deposited in the West Bank, while 11 others were taken to the occupied East Al Quds.
This exchange between prisoners and hostages is part of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel that entered into force this Friday, November 24, 2023 at 7 am local time.
The agreement concluded on Wednesday provides in total the exchange of 50 women and children held by Hamas for 150 Palestinian prisoners, as well as a lull of fighting for four days.
This “humanitarian break” negotiated under the leadership of Qatar, Egypt and the United States comes as war between Israel and Hamas entered its 49th day. The first hostage releases.
The agreement found also provides the routing of 130 thousand liters of fuel each day and the daily entry of 200 trucks of humanitarian aid in the Palestinian enclave.
