Thirty Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons were released overnight Wednesday, 29 to Thursday, November 30, 2023 in application of the Truce agreement between Hamas and the Zionist entity.
These 30 prisoners, including 16 minors and 14 women, were released after the release earlier by Hamas of 16 Israeli and foreign hostages selected in the Gaza Strip.
Among the liberated people is Ahed Tamimi, the 22 -year -old activist who became an icon for the Palestinians defying the Israeli occupation.
Since its entry into force on November 24, the Truce agreement has already enabled the release of 70 Israeli hostages and 210 Palestinian prisoners. In addition, around thirty foreigners, mostly Thai people working in Israel, were released outside the framework of this agreement.
The prolonged Truce
In addition, the Truce entered into force on November 24 between Hamas and the Zionist entity was extended in extremis Thursday morning, the two belligerents said. The Truce was to expire at 7:00 am local (5:00 GMT), but Qatar confirmed that it will be extended from a day to Friday, December 1.
“The Palestinian and Israeli parties have agreed to extend the humanitarian Truce in the Gaza Strip of an additional day,” the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Majed Al-Ansari said in a statement.
The extension of the Truce is done under the same conditions as those of other breaks, namely the cessation of military activities and the entry of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, explained Mr. Ansari. He added that the Truce would take place “as part of the joint mediation of Qatar, Egypt and the United States”.
