A new concept of bookstore was born in Tunisia. The prestigious Al Kitab bookstore has just inaugurated a unique space dedicated to books, art and culture.
The building located on the main artery of Mutuelleville has a bookstore, a space for artistic or craft exhibitions and a roof top fitted out in coffee or cultural animation. It was inaugurated last Monday and has been open to the public since Tuesday.
Al Kitab Mutu has the objective of becoming a pleasant, friendly place of life, where you come to exchange, discuss, cultivate or simply sit quietly.
In this new concept is also a major novelty. The selection of titles will stand out from that of the other two bookstores. Indeed, the bookstore will be multilingual (50% French, 35% Arab, 8% English, 2% other languages) and the classification will enhance this specificity.
The initial fund will be 5000 titles bringing together around 250 publishers. In total, 40 rays are initially defined, totaling around 200 linear meters of shelves.
An animation program will be set up as soon as the opening provides at least 4 activities per week (conferences, dedications, readings, workshops, exhibition opening, etc.)
The Café area will serve light drinks and snacks. It will have several types of seats to respond to the various customer profiles.
The art gallery space will be fitted out to host continuous exhibitions and the art books department will be installed in this section to make the link with the bookstore.
