A list of 18 protected historical and archaeological monuments has just been published in the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (Jort) dated January 3, 2023.
This list was published on the sidelines of the meeting of the National Heritage Commission held on September 13, 2022. In the light of this meeting, a decree of December 26, 2022, protecting the historic and archaeological monuments was published.
According to this document aimed at protecting the national material heritage, 18 historical and archaeological monuments are protected in 11 governorates (Tunis, Ben Arous, Bizerte, Béja, Zaghouan, Kairouan, Sidi Bouzid, Gafsa, Sousse, Gabes and Kébili).
