The Ivorians of ASEC Mimosas, left with a smile on Saturday evening after having held a hope of Tunis frustrated by the virgin draw in control in what was the last quarter -final of the African Champions League.
The 0-0 draw augurs for a very contested return match in Abidjan next weekend, the two teams starting the shock with virgin match sheets.
Despite a lack of possession (20%) and severe pressure suffered throughout the match, the Ivorians have absorbed well and thwart most of the “blood and gold” attacks. For its part, ES Tunis must only attack itself to have spoiled a great opportunity to take the break from the first leg.
The return games of the Champions League quarterfinals will take place on April 5 and 6.
