Maïwenn is a Franco-Algerian director, screenwriter, actress and producer. She won the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize in 2011 for her film Polisheras well as the female interpretation prize for Emmanuelle Bercot in her magnificent film My king In 2015. She was also a member of the 50/50 collective, which aims to promote the equality of women and men in cinema and audiovisual.
Johnny Depp embodies the French sovereign in this film and gives the reply to French actors such as Pierre Richard, Benjamin Lavernhe and India Hair. He will play for the first time in French. A constraint that Maïwenn explains that it has integrated into his staging: ” My film is not very talkative and so he did not have toast of texts to say.
