The US Defense Minister announced yesterday 18 December training in the Red Sea with a coalition of 10 countries yesterday, in order to face the attacks of the Houthis against ships against the background of the war in Gaza.
Lloyd Austin explained in a statement that France, the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Seychelles would take part in this coalition.
“The recent climbing of irresponsible attacks by Houthis from Yemen threatens the free movement of trade, endangers the life of innocent sailors and violates international law,” he said.
“This is why today I announce the establishment of Operation Prosperity Guardian,” added the head of the Pentagon.
