It has now been two months since different sources announce an imminent reopening of the Bardo Museum, closed since July 2021 for reasons that have never been officially explained.

Scheduled around March 20 in parallel with the installation of the new parliament, the long -awaited reopening had not taken place.

Announced for April 18 on the occasion of International Day of Monuments and Sites, reopening to the public now seems to be postponed to May 2. The day before should be held an official ceremony to mark the reopening.

Simultaneously, other sources evoke the date of May 18 on the occasion of International Museum Day.

No official source has been expressed in this regard, the only furtive statements emphasize that “everything has been ready for a while, pending a green light from the Presidency of the Republic”.

The expectation of white smoke continues but the quivering is very noticeable because the museum is about to reopen its doors and put an end to this soap that has been going on for more than 21 months.
