The United Nations will participate in the 37th edition of the International Book Fair to be held at the Palais des Expositions du Kram, in Tunis, from April 28 to May 7, 2023.
This large -scale cultural event will offer a privileged opportunity to discover the recent publications of the United Nations and to learn about its mandates and its achievements.
16 agencies, programs and United Nations funds in Tunisia will take part in the International Book Fair. More than 60 activities will be offered to all age categories and cover themes such as human rights, children’s rights, refugees, migrants, women and people with specific needs.
The programming will include, among other things conferences, dance shows, plays, a world cooking workshop, a vegetable garden, an exhibition in digital art, a human library, film screenings and games and animations for all types of audiences.
The UN agencies will highlight the projects carried out at the national level which meet the strategic priorities defined in the “United Nations Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development (UNSDCF) during the 2021-2025 period. These actions aim to contribute to national development and support the most disadvantaged populations to “leave no one aside”.
In addition, the International Book Fair will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (DUDH). The NUs in Tunisia will join the global initiative “DUDH 75” to promote the human values it embodies and their adequacy with the needs of our time.
