The “New York Times” decided to prosecute Microsoft and Openai, designer of the Chatgpt conversational robot. He accuses them of having used millions of his articles without permission.
The prestigious American newspaper began, on Wednesday, December 27, legal proceedings with a New York Federal Court against Openai, creator of the Chatgpt software, and Microsoft for copyright violation.
The “New York Times” estimates the damage suffered at “several billion dollars” and accuses Microsoft and Openai of having exploited millions of articles protected by copyright to develop and market their generative artificial intelligence (AI) products without its permission.
The newspaper considers that it is an “copyright violation in terms of content and journalistic work”.
