Russia launched this Friday morning a large series of bombings in several Ukrainian cities in what is one of the largest attacks of the year against Ukrainian targets.
Russia launched around 110 missiles in the night as well as drones against Ukrainian targets, announced this Friday, December 29, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Most missiles and drones have been killed, but at least seven civilians were killed and an indefinite number of people were buried under the rubble, Ukrainian officials said. More than 70 people were reportedly injured. Human balance sheets are likely to increase, have warned the authorities.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said Russia “apparently launched everything she had” against targets through Ukraine. Russia would have used a combination of drones, hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles, has joined the Ukrainian air force.
The attack of around 6 p.m. which started on Thursday and continued overnight touched six cities, including the capital kyiv, and other regions from east to west of Ukraine.
These attacks arise after Russia confirmed last Tuesday that one of its ships had been damaged in a kyiv in Crimea attack.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed by his Minister of Defense Sergei Choigou of “damage” suffered by the large landing ship Novotcherkassk. The Ukrainian army said it “destroyed” this ship with cruise missiles, which, according to her, carried Shahed drones.
