Hezbollah secretary general Hassan Nasrallah warned this Friday that the southern suburbs of Beirut “is serious and will not remain without response” adding that his movement will respond on the battlefield.
Hassan Nasrallah has spoke for the fourth time since October, to tackle in particular the assassination on his soil of the vice-president of the Hamas political bureau, Salah al-Arouri.
In a television speech delivered this Friday, January 5, he said: “The assassination of Saleh al-Arouri will certainly not remain unanswered, and the decision depends on the battlefield. We will answer it ”.
He added: “If we keep silent on the assassination of al-Arouri, Lebanon will be exposed in the future. Our answer is inevitable ”.
Nasrallah said “the United States does not want war to extend to Lebanon because it is concerned about the Ukrainian front and are preparing for a strategic defeat against Russia”.
It should be noted that Lebanon filed a complaint on Thursday, January 4, a complaint with the UN Security Council after the assassination of the number two of Hamas, Saleh al-Arouri, in an Israeli attack in Beirut.
According to the complaint, this offensive and blatant violation of Lebanon sovereignty and security is likely to “cause climbing, a first since 2006, and that it could lead to an expansion of the conflict, thus destabilizing regional peace and security”.
