The next general assembly of the Tunisian Football Federation, which was to be held on May 11, 2024, was canceled on Tuesday April 30 following the rejection of the three lists in the running. This rejection was confirmed today by the FTF appeal commission. Jalel Tekaya and Zied Tlemçani are officially out!
The Tunisian Football Federation’s appeal commission officially rejected this Saturday, May 4, 2024, the appeals of the lists of Zied Tlemçani and Jalel Ben Tekaya, the two candidates who still had a hope of applying for the presidency of the Tunisian football body.
According to Moez Nasri, chairman of the appeal committee, the two appeals brought by the lists of Zied Tlemçani and Jalel Tekaya were accepted in the form and rejected in the substance, thus confirming the decision initially taken on April 30 by the electoral commission to reject the applications of the two lists.
The next general assembly of the Tunisian Football Federation, which was to be held on May 11, 2024, is therefore canceled de facto canceled following the rejection of the three candidate lists, namely that of Jalel Tekaya, Zied Tlemçani and Wassef Jelil.
The appeal committee decided on April 28, to definitively reject the appeal presented by Wassef Jelil against the decision of the Electoral Committee to withdraw its list from the FTF presidency.
With the rejection of the three lists which had presented itself and the cancellation of the elective general assembly of May 11, it will be necessary to expect an intervention by FIFA to designate a new federal office at the head of the FTF.
