The Chicago municipal council announced this Thursday that it had adopted a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas, making it the largest city in the United States to do so.
The resolution of the council calls for a “permanent ceasefire to end the current violence in Gaza. . . So that humanitarian aid, including medicines, food and water, is sent to the affected region. ”
At least 47 cities in the United States have adopted resolutions calling for the cessation of fighting between Israel and Hamas, including several in crucial states for the candidacy for the re-election of President Joe Biden.
We see an important message addressed to Biden before the November elections, imploring the course to change the course on the issue, after having supported the strategy of “fighting fire by fire”.
