United States of America, more specifically Oklahoma, a state of the southern center of America lived on Thursday evening a funny execution of one of these condemned, John Duty 58 years sentenced to death in 2002 for having strangled his cell companion to death.
The strangest of this execution comes from the fact that the state has used a powerful veterinary anesthetic product, the pentobarbital, used to euthanize animals due to a national stock of the only laboratory called Hospira implanted on American soil and able to manufacture the product validated by the American supreme court for anesthetize the convicts to death.
The production of Thiopental, the famous anesthetic authorized for humans, must resume in the first quarter of 2011 but, in the meantime, some states found the means to continue the executions, using a certain dose of Pentobarbital, this after having received Tuesday the green light from a Federal Court of Appeal for which “the expected quantity of Pentobarbital is sufficient to dive into the unconsciousness Probably fatal in most cases, even all ”.
The spokesperson for the Oklahoma prison administration said that for John Duty, the execution took place without problem, even after the many requests and pleadings of his lawyers without success and who cried in scandal and the suspension of the execution in fear that their client be taken for a “cobay”.
It should be noted that the United States of America are still among the countries which have not abolished the death penalty but some of which are seriously thinking about it because of the very high financial blow of an execution in relation to life imprisonment.
