A Dutch court summed up on Monday, February 12, 2024, the Netherlands on Monday, February 12, 2024 to stop delivering F-35 combat aircraft used by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The judgment pronounced is right to human rights organizations. “The court orders the State to cease any export and real transit of F-35 documents to the final destination Israel within 7 days of the service of this judgment,” said the Hague Court of Appeal.
The Court thus canceled the verdict issued at first instance in this case. The Hague district court judged in December that the supply of documents was above all a political decision in which the judges should not interfere.
The controversy around these deliveries had broken out since last November. The Dutch authorities had, then, indicated that they do not clearly know if they had the right to intervene in deliveries, “carried out as part of an operation under the aegis of the United States to provide spare parts to all the F-35 of the partner countries”.
