The steering committee of the 57th edition of the Hammamet International Festival (FIH) announced, on Wednesday, at the end of the afternoon, that the show by Malian artist Fatoumata Diawara, scheduled for Thursday, August 3, “will not take place”, for health reasons.
The steering committee of the 57th edition of the FIH says it “received an email from the artist’s legal representative, accompanied by a medical file mentioning the sudden degradation of the artist’s state of health which prevents him from traveling”. According to the festival press release, the email was received when the organizers were “setting up the latest preparations for the Malian artist’s show …”
The FIH informs spectators that the reimbursement of tickets will be with the administration of the International Cultural Center in Hammamet (Maison de la Méditerranée for Culture et les Arts) from Friday 04 August 2023 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is the second concert canceled in 24 hours, and for this 2023 edition of the FIH, after that of Emel Mathluthi which was to perform on the evening of Wednesday August 9.
Bigflo & Oli were to perform this evening on the scene of the ancient theater of Carthage as part of the 57th edition of the FIC, but the show was canceled at the last minute.
Maître Gims was to perform in Djerba on August 11. He decided to cancel his concert in response to the humanitarian situation at the borders of Tunisia and Libya.
