The Italian security forces arrested on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, twelve people, including six Tunisians and six Italians during an international operation against human beings.
After this thread, twelve deposit mandates were issued against suspects, accused of “formation of a criminal gang aimed at helping and encouraging illegal immigration in an aggravated manner”.
The surveys, launched by the various Italian services of Palermo and Trapani, as well as the direction of the fight against the mafia, exposed the criminal organization (SISCO) composed of several cells.
These cells “are based in Tunisia and Italy and are active in the illegal transport of Tunisian migrants from the northern coasts of Tunisia until their arrival on the Côte de Marsala, in the province of Trapani, and this since August 2022”.
