In a press release made public, the Tabarka Jazz Festival organizing committee announced the cancellation of the 20th edition scheduled for August 11 to 19, 2023.
Speaking on the airwaves of Mosaic FM, the director of the festival, Jalel Hilali, justified this decision by a financial reason, claiming that the organizing committee did everything possible to “honor its commitments but the absence of financial means, support from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the National Tunisian Tourist Office and the lack of sponsorship led to this situation”.
“Despite our efforts and concessions, the lack of funding prevented us from organizing an edition that retains the status of this festival,” he deplored.
