Some reports have reported, since yesterday, violent demonstrations in the city of Benghazi which, according to witnesses, would have broken out following the arrest of a lawyer, famous opponent of the government.

This lawyer may have been released a little later, the demonstrations continued with even more virulence.

The hundreds of people present shouted slogans against the government; These songs were taken over by an increasingly numerous crowd. Despite the pacifism displayed by the demonstrators, clashes would have taken place with the security forces which managed to disperse the crowd using water cannons.

During the night, violent incidents would have broken out during which several hundred people have faced police officers, according to several local witnesses and media.

In addition, the Al Arabiya channel evokes the number of thirty-eight people injured following the clashes of the demonstrators with the police. This undeniably increased the anger of the Libyans who prepare for tomorrow a great day of demonstration called “the day of anger”.

The height of irony, Libyan public television, like its Tunisian neighbor, reports support for the Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, across the country.
