Elon Musk announces a new version, Grok-1.5, which will be available for early testers and current Grok users on the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter.
Elon Musk has announced in a tweet that his artificial intelligence startup, XAI, will launch an improved version of his Grok chatbot in the coming days. The new version, Grok-1.5, will be available for early testers and current Grok users on the X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter.
One of the most notable improvements in Grok-1.5 is its performance in coding and mathematics tasks. Musk launched XAI last year to create an “AI maximizing the truth”, looking for an alternative to Microsoft and Alphabet supported by Openai and Google.
In December, XAI launched Grok for the premium+ subscribers of X, and earlier this month, Musk said that XAI would make Grok Open Source. This announcement comes a few days after Musk continued Openai for having allegedly abandoned his initial mission in favor of a for -profit model.
The launch of Grok-1.5 comes as competition in the field of artificial intelligence is intensifying. Technology giants invest massively in the development of chatbots and virtual assistants to improve the user experience and offer more personalized services. With Grok-1.5, XAI hopes to stand out from the competition by offering a more efficient chatbot in coding and mathematics tasks.
The term “grok”, popularized by the science fiction writer Robert Heinlein, describes a deep understanding to the point where it becomes an integral part of oneself, and is adopted by Elon Musk and other science fiction enthusiasts, programmers and hackers.
