The Islamist demonstration which took place since 1:30 p.m. on Bourguiba avenue in Tunis was dispersed at the tear gas canreate by the riot brigade.
According to a witness, the Islamist demonstrators decided to fold luggage around 3:30 p.m. It was when they gathered the equipment (baffles) that the police decided to attack with tear gas and batons, ignoring passers -by.
It was a moment of panic: people ran from everywhere, tears in their eyes, because of gas, and almost shouting. The stores barricaded their storefronts and motorists have not stopped horn to escape chaos.
The riot brigade has housed on Avenue Habib Bourguiba evacuating everyone pell-mell.
At a time when we write these lines calm does not seem to be returned to the avenue. Moreover, some Islamist demonstrators returned to the load armed with sticks. The police are still present on the avenue, and some hooded plainclothes roll on motorcycles, equipped with lacrymogenic bomb rifles.
