The African club recently formalized the arrival of French coach David Bettoni at the head of his technical staff. According to information relayed by various media, Bettoni has signed up for a period of two seasons with the Tunisian club.
David Bettoni, 52, is best known for his role as assistant to Zinedine Zidane in Real Madrid. Together, they formed a winning duo, accumulating no less than 11 major titles with the Spanish club.
However, Bettoni’s career as a main trail remains limited. His only experience in this position took place at FC Sion in Switzerland, where he failed to convince, with a record of two victories, two draws and six defeats, leading to his dismissal after only two months.
Before becoming a coach, Bettoni had a modest player career, playing in several clubs in France and Italy. It was in 2013 that Zinedine Zidane, then in charge of the Real Madrid reserve team, invited him to join the club as a recruiter. This fruitful collaboration has led to the signing of Gareth Bale, one of the most emblematic transfers of the time.
After obtaining his coach license in 2016, Bettoni continued to work alongside Zidane at Real Madrid, playing a key role during the two periods of Zidane at the head of the team, from 2016 to 2018 and 2019 to 2021.
