It is in partnership with the Spanish Embassy and the Argentina Embassy that the Tunisian cinematheque organizes a cycle of film screenings in Spanish language, from November 7 to 10.
Thus, the film cycle offered at the Tunisian Cinémathèque, finds its base in an initiative linked between Argentinian and Spanish cultural services.
In this spirit, from November 7 to 10, the Tunisian Cinémathèque will drape itself from the colors of Argentina and Spain for an event entitled “Rutas de Cine: from Mendoza and Madrid to Tunis”.
The four Hispano-Argentinian films chosen for this cycle deal with some of the most significant themes of the last decades: from the economic crisis to passion, identity and obsession.
All these films offer a unique perspective to discover contemporary Argentine culture and society in different historical and geographic contexts.
The program started on Tuesday, November 7, with the film “La Odisea de Los Giles” by Sebastián Borensztein (2019). The cycle will continue on November 8 and 9, with respectively “El Ciudadano Ilustre” by Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn (2016) then “Empieza El Baile” by Marina Seresesky (2022). Finally, the closing film on November 10 will be “El Secreto de Sus Ojos” by Juan José Campanella (2009).
All these films are award -winning works, having participated in the Oscars of the foreign or recipient film of the Goya Prize. The projections will take place in an original version subtitled in French, every day at 6.30 p.m.
