The songs will not release Gaza, but they release the ideas! Message to “Nabbaras”!
Zionists think they are stifling Palestinian culture by destroying cultural centers, museums and libraries. However, they neglected a fundamental truth: the culture of the strongest will always prevail.
And the proof? The emblematic songs of the Palestinian resistance resonate not only through the Arab world but also Western, reaffirming the vitality of a culture which refuses to fold.
Swedes, Belgians and others went down to the street singing “Leve Palestina”, a fifty -year -old song that has established itself as the unwavering anthem of supporters of Palestine.
Created in Swedes by George Toteri, a Palestinian exiled in Sweden after the six -day war, this song resonates with a striking news through the current war waged by Israel against Gaza.
Other folk songs, carrying a collective memory, find a new life as the Palestinian communities and their allies sing for justice and freedom.
What a value to have a beautiful voice
If it is not given to humanity?
For decades, resistance songs have been powerful catalysts for change and humanism around the world.
Songs of resistance and humanism, such as “Win Almalayin”, “Al Helm Alarabi” or “We Are the World” have demonstrated how music can transcend cultural and political barriers to inspire humanity to act for the common good.
They have shown that singing can be much more than a simple artistic expression – it is a way to give a voice to pain and to capture injustice.
Currently, Arab singers are content – some by a momentum of populism – to participate in charities in favor of the Palestinians. Others don’t care and dance with the bearers of the AGAL and the abbeys.
Artistic creativity must go beyond the rehearsal of masterpieces of the past. Creating a collective song for the occasion is essential to all Arab artists and resonates as a natural response to injustice.
Not to join this project or to act of inaction is a form of complicity that silence feeds more.
Does the silence “lose opportunities to sing in Europe and fans on YouTube” justifies such behavior? Otherwise what value to have a beautiful voice if it is not given to humanity?
Singing cannot free Gaza. But it remains a powerful weapon, otherwise the criminals would not have thought of censor content on social networks and on musical platforms …
