An American film project on the famous Carthaginian General “Hannibal” will be born and will be co -produced and distributed by the Netflix streaming platform.
This film whose release date has not been communicated, will be directed by Antoine Fuqua according to a scenario by John Logan and will see the participation in the main role of the American actor Denzel Washington (68), winner of two Oscars.
“Denzel Washington played the role of corrupt cops, former ball players, drunk pilots and Thane of Cawdor; Now, he faces one of the greatest military leaders in history, ”said a statement published on Monday, November 13, 2023, on the Netflix site.
This film will throw light on the singular course of the Carthaginian leader Hannibal who led an army of warriors and elephants through the Alps to fight the Roman Empire during the Second Punic War.
Hannibal Barca, born in Carthage in the year 247 BC, is considered one of the greatest military tacticians in history. This military leader would have died between the year 183 and 181 in Türkiye, in the current city of Bursa.
